Your heart will go out to Mercedes as you witness her being relentlessly manipulated and abused by her alcoholic father, Mr. Benz. Mercedes has few associates and no one whom she can really trust. This gospel play Shattered sends a strong message of forgiveness, hope, and perseverance. One might become truly disturbed as they behold the abandonment, the betrayal, and the hurt Mercedes receives at the hands of the very ones closest to her. This stage play tells the story of every believer who has accepted Jesus as their personal savior with the hopes that things will get better, when suddenly things go terribly wrong. What will be Mercedes' fate? Will she continue to trust God? What would you do if you were in her shoes?
"My wife and I were both moved by the stage play "Shattered." We felt transported into the life of a young lady who was deeply wounded and in despair. Once the main character gave her life to God, she was able to forgive. And despite the unyielding pain, she was able to behold the redeeming power of the most-high God. Great job, Josephine Martin and the entire Kingdom Theater cast."

"This was my first stage play by Kingdom Theater Productions. I was particularly moved at how the audience seemed to be engaged in the storyline. Right from the attention-getting first scene, I was glued to my seat. The characters in this play did a great job and were very convincing, given the subject matter. I could relate to some of the characters in many ways. I realize that it usually takes a praying Grandmother, mother, father, or friend to help get us through the hard times. This play was truly a treat to watch, a 'must-see'."
"Shattered, a theatrical play designed to provide hope for those who find themselves in challenging situations as a result of growing up in a dysfunctional home. Although the production was performed by an African-American cast, many cultures can identify with the struggles of incest, rape, addiction, neglect, and even murder without looking outside of their communities. The excellent acting promoted a thought process, which can challenge individuals to examine their own emotional state. With that said, one should not be so quick judge or throw stones when the very home they live in might be made of glass."
